Chad Reed had a tough weekend but minimized the damage by finishing second behind Ricky Carmicheal. After Chad crashed in his heat race and injured his shoulder, paddock speculations where he might not compete for the remainder of the event. But that’s not Reed, he came back to qualify for the main event by winning semi final #2. To top it off he finished second in the main event, loosing the championship lead to Carmicheal. Reed is now two points behind with 213. Other title contender James Stewart finished sixth. He briefly led the main event but fell early on, taking a hard spill. He managed to get up to charge back to a sixth position finish, seeing the gap to the championship lead grow to 26 points.
