Australia’s World Supercross luminary Chad Reed has secured the runner-up titles in the 2007 FIM World Supercross Grand Prix Championship and the Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Championship after enduring a frustrating penultimate round of both series at Seattle’s Qwest Field tonight. For the first time this season Reed missed the podium, finishing sixth after an incident on the opening lap of the 20-lap Main Event forced the L-M/San Manuel/Yamaha rider into the mechanics area for repairs. Reed rejoined the race dead last and put in a gallant effort to get back into the top ten but unfortunately his Championship fate was sealed when rival James Stewart won the race putting both titles out of reach. With more than 50 points separating him from Tim Ferry, the third placed rider in both series, Reed is guaranteed the runner-up titles but said after an extremely difficult season due to injuries he would be looking to finish the year with a win at Las Vegas.
