The Doctor Performs a Misano Miracle
The many thousand Valentino Rossi fans gathered at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli had their dreams come true today as their Movistar Yamaha MotoGP hero delivered a perfect race to take victory for the 'Gran Premio di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini'. Teammate Jorge Lorenzo came home in second to make it a perfect Yamaha one-two finish.

The Doctor made his intentions clear from the off with a flying start to move up from third to second into the first corner, tucked in behind teammate Lorenzo.

Yamaha Celebrates 50th Anniversary of First World Title with Phil Read in Misano
It was a very special gathering inside the MotoGP paddock at Misano this evening as the Yamaha family joined with the paddock and media to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their first world title with legend Phil Read.

The British racing icon took Yamaha to their first world championship victory aboard the RD56 250cc machine on the 13th September 1964, at the Monza circuit in Italy.

Perfect Pole for Lorenzo in Misano
The Movistar Yamaha MotoGP team sprinkled a little Misano magic on qualifying this afternoon as Jorge Lorenzo set a scorching pace to score the first Factory Yamaha pole position start of the season.

Lorenzo wasn't the only Yamaha rider on fire either as teammate Valentino Rossi put in a stunning ride to secure third on the front row to the delight of his home crowd, just 0.064 seconds behind Lorenzo.

Rain Sets the Pace as Misano MotoGP Begins
There was little fun to be had today by the Movistar Yamaha MotoGP riders in the first two practice sessions for Sunday's 'Grand Prix di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini' at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli.

Persistent rain throughout the day meant both Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi had their wet riding skills tested to the max on the treacherously slippery track.

Yamaha Sets Up For San Marino
After a week of rest the Movistar Yamaha MotoGP team has arrived at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli for the 'GP di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini' on Sunday the 14th of September.

Nine-time World Champion Valentino Rossi is hungry for a good result at his home race, the track being just 20 minutes down the road from his home in Tavullia.

At the previous round in Silverstone, Rossi snatched his eighth podium finish of the season.

Stunning Silverstone Battles Deliver Double Yamaha Podium
Movistar Yamaha MotoGP riders Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi fought epic battles today in the British Grand Prix to take their third consecutive double Yamaha podium, finishing second and third respectively.

Starting from third on the grid Lorenzo had a flying start off the line, taking the holeshot into the first corner. He put his head down trying to clear off at the front but wasn't able to shake off his rival Marc Marquez who followed close behind.

Lorenzo Secures Silverstone Front Row for British Grand Prix
Movistar Yamaha MotoGP rider Jorge Lorenzo claimed third place on the grid for tomorrow's British Grand Prix at Silverstone this afternoon following a tense qualifying session that saw teammate Valentino Rossi take sixth on the second row.

Lorenzo was clearly eager to start the session as the first rider to line up at the pit line exit for the overcast 15-minute session. His first hot lap was a 2'01.798 followed by a 2'01.771 that was good for provisional second place.
