Yamaha Secures Double Podium at Sweltering Sepang

The Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix saw Movistar Yamaha MotoGP's Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo claim Yamaha's eighth double podium of the season after a heated battle at the Sepang International Circuit.

Valentino Rossi had a dream start to the Malaysian Grand Prix as he shot up two places to fourth and settled behind his teammate Lorenzo. As Lorenzo moved up the order, Rossi quickly responded and climbed to third, but he was shadowed in his every move by rival Marc Marquez.

Lorenzo Secures Front Row in Heated Sepang Qualifying

Movistar Yamaha MotoGP's Jorge Lorenzo continued his competitive form of yesterday this afternoon at the hot Sepang International Circuit by taking third on the grid. His teammate, Valentino Rossi, had a challenging qualifying session and will start tomorrow's Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix from sixth position.

Despite the fact that the lengthy track allows little time for multiple hot laps, Lorenzo made sure to leave pitlane last for the 15 minute qualifying heat to be ensured of some clear space.

Solid Start at Rain Soaked Sepang for Yamaha

Movistar Yamaha MotoGP's Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi got their first laps in around the Sepang International Circuit under very mixed conditions today as they prepare for this weekend's Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix.

Lorenzo successfully kicked off the third and last overseas Grand Prix weekend during the sunny morning session. The Majorcan rider spent his first stint finding a good dry set up before posting a best lap of 2'01.416 in his second stint, just 0.037 seconds off the fastest pace.

The Doctor Marks 250th Grand Prix in MotoGP with Perfect Phillip Island Performance

Movistar Yamaha MotoGP's Valentino Rossi raised the roof in Australia today, delivering a stunning race victory at Phillip Island for the Australian Grand Prix. Teammate Jorge Lorenzo claimed the second step of the rostrum as part of a full Yamaha podium with Bradley Smith in third.

The Doctor made a great start to his 250th Grand Prix race in MotoGP as he jumped two places to sixth on the opening laps.

Front Row Start for Lorenzo at Phillip Island

Movistar Yamaha MotoGP's Jorge Lorenzo qualified third on the grid at an overcast Phillip Island circuit for tomorrow's Australian Grand Prix, while teammate Valentino Rossi will start the race from eighth position.

Lorenzo started the 15-minute qualifying heat in his normal fashion of making sure being the first rider to leave pit lane. His first flying lap of 1'29.175 saw him very briefly hold provisional pole until other riders completed their first lap, pushing him back to fourth place.

Positive Start for Movistar Yamaha on the Island

Movistar Yamaha MotoGP riders Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi were back on track at the Phillip Island circuit today for the first free practice sessions of this weekend's Australian Grand Prix.

Still thrilled to have won the two previous Grand Prix, Lorenzo was quick to find the pace around the Phillip Island circuit. Riding in the cold and windy conditions, the Spaniard was able to hold second position for most of the morning session, finishing just 0.160s from the front runner.
