Spark Plug Application Chart
While most NGK spark plugs are pre-gapped, there are instances where the gap requires modification. NGK recommends a wire-style or feelergage gap tool which can adjust the gap without prying against the center electrode. NGK also recommends adjusting the gap no more than +/- 0.008” from the preset gap. Modern Electronic Ignitions are not as 'gap sensitive' as old, point style ignitions. If you are a tinkerer with extra time on your hands, you can set the initial gap on a USED NGK Spark Plug at .028" ('-10' plugs gap at .040") You can read Dr Jay's Tech-Topic on Spark Plugs HERE
