April 2008 Recap
Hello 109’rs
Calico Ghost Town, our April ride
destination.
Well if you showed up for the ride you
know what happened. For those of you who couldn’t be there, WE DIDN’T GO
!!!!!!!
Our fearless leaders called ahead and
found out that Calico was having 50 mph winds!!
High winds, sand and motorcycle paint
don’t mix. So the ride destination was changed to our regular back-up and
always good time OLD TOWN TEMECULA.
To
start off we went to the Whole Enchilada for our April meeting. We had our
usual information to go over. Some of the things where, T-shirts, Coffee
mugs, Laughlin (covered later), The IronAzz Ride and most of all we
started talking about Debi’s Ride and how this year’s event is different
from the past. For starters we are in the mist of our TEN YEAR anniversary
and decided to combine Debi’s Ride with the Ten Year celebration. We
mentioned the Poker Run, Corporate Sponsors, Live Music and Vendors. We
will need volunteers and a lot of you stepped up. We may need more so if
you’re interested in helping please email Gary or Ron. Your help will be
greatly appreciated and it’s for a good cause THE MARIPOSA FOUNDATION.

The
highlight of the meeting is when we voted new members in, congratulation
to; Richard and Valarie Watson, Vincent Turner, Mike Maydon and Raymond
Lujan. It’s always good to see new riders joining the club, but when they
can’t bring money to bribe themselves in they can always bring a t-shirt
that says “Well Work For Membership”, nice going Richard Watson that was
to funny.
 After
the food and fun we headed to Old Town Temecula. The first group cruised
through town in formation side by side, and people took notice. I found
this quote in a Roadliner Forum on the internet,
“We were just finishing a great
meal on
the patio of a little Mexican restaurant overlooking Main street, when
we saw a group of motorcycles coming down the street in a slow parade.
Several folks stood up to get a better look at the approaching group. Not
me, I instantly know what they were. Yamaha's one and all on
parade! My friends and many others continued to stand (all life time hard
core Harley owners) and watch the Yamies go by. A shout out and a sincere
thank you to that S.T.A.R. group who rode through Old Town, you all
looked great in that slow parade. Believe you me, everyone on and
off the street took notice.”
I always knew we looked good, man
isn’t that cool.
We
walked around; we ate some food, had some root beer and did some shopping.
As you can see riding as a group in formation is great for safety and it
looks cool. We got a lot of respect that day from on lookers and who knows
maybe some of them are looking for Star Chapters to ride with.

See you at the IRONAZZ.
