December 2007 Ride Recap
Our
December 2007 ride called “THE FOUNDERS DAY RIDE” was meant to
acknowledge the founders of Inland Empire 109, Vinnie and Jay, and to
celebrate the beginning of our Tenth Year Anniversary.
The day
started out pretty good, with the arrival of some new riders, Ruben
and Valerie Granados, Doug Misnser and Lisa Barnett. After the
Sheppard’s got the new riders situated we headed to our meeting spot,
The Hometown Buffet for some good conversation and great food.
Our
ride took us through some of the newer neighborhoods and beautiful
parks in Rancho Cucamonga, up Milliken Ave., right on Banyan that
turns into Summit on
our
way towards old Route 66. There were some tight corners through Devour
that made it a fun short ride through the beginnings of the
Cajon Pass to Hwy. 38. We stopped for a while and then headed back the
way we came. For those of you, who haven’t taken this way before, give
it a try. This is the road everyone used before the 15 freeway came
into existence, very nice scenery without the freeway traffic.
When we
returned to YOC, Jay had tables, chairs and easy-ups all set up for
the catered Mexican Food from The Taco Hut.
The
food was excellent; give them a try at (909)980-6202. We were all
treated to great prizes and a very good raffle. DJ and Chris won
almost everything,
(they always do). I think
Gary won two gift certificates worth some good money. Rob Roy won some
winter riding gear also. I think everyone walked away with something.
Vendors like Nitro Fill was there showing and giving away there
products. We also had a chance to try the new Raider; Jay had one
there for demo rides. Man that bike looks good.

In
closing, I would like to thank our founders, Jay and Vinnie. If it
wasn’t for their planning and vision of what a motorcycle club should
be like, we wouldn’t have the oldest Star Touring and Riding club in
Southern California, TEN YEARS AND STILL GOING STRONG……… Thanks guys.
