January Ride Recap

The LOS Ride, or should I say the Ladies of Star “Cool Ladies and Hot Bikes” Ride was a huge success. The ride was meant to bring attention to the positive involvement of women in motorcycles. It was also an opportunity for the men to bring there Lady and show them how family oriented and friendly this riding organization is.

Well if its attention we wanted, boy did we get it. The Daily Bulletin came out and did an article on our event. You can read the article by clicking on this link http://www.dailybulletin.com/ci_8022690?source=most_emailed. A must read.

Eleven new riders showed up for this special event. Those names are, Jana Rawling, George and Susan Burkovich, Vincent Turner, Sam Yin, Ruben Granados, Ken King, Mike Maydon, Gary Powell, Richard Watson and Roger Nottingham. Now it seemed to be more than eleven new riders. Our Sheppard’s had o take on two riders each, so if I missed anyone, I’m sorry.

With the new riders situated by our talented staff of Sheppard’s we took off for our meeting spot of the month. Once there, we did some business (Reading of the Charter), announcements and good food. We then got ready and headed out on a short ride to the San Bernardino County Museum. We wanted to keep this ride short, because we had to be back at Yamaha of Cucamonga (YOC) for the catered lunch and prizes.

Trophies were given to the Lady that came from farthest away, most miles on her bike and most ride pins. We also raffled some gift certificates for merchandise at YOC.

The Ventura Chapter 258 came down to show there support, we always enjoy it when they visit.

We all agreed that seeing all the women who showed up made this a real special event. Some of our best riders are women, and having our spouses either right next to us riding there own bike or having them behind us on our bikes, means that they enjoy the same thing we love to do. Ride bikes, have fun, and to do it with people we love, that’s special.

Congratulations Ladies on a great event.
